Dear Michael and Natalie: While in Costa Rica our family stayed at the Corcovado Lodge Tent Camp. Before the trip when I told my husband we were staying at a "tent camp" while on the Osa Peninsula, he was, to say the least, reticent. However, I am happy to report that from the moment we arrived at Carate and were greeted by the gentlemen with the luggage cart, and began our walk down that gorgeous beach, our stay at Corcovado was enchanted.
When we came upon those beautiful grounds of the your tent camp, we cheered with joy. From the hibiscus flowers on the beds, to the hammocks in the bar, these extra touches that you and your staff go out of your way to do, creates a magical experience. Every staff member was courteous, informative and more than helpful. Our guide was knowledgeable and thorough and increased our enjoyment of the park. And the food was excellent! Thank you and your incredible staff for a marvelous stay. -Rebecca Wilder

Good Day Michael & Natalie: We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Costa Rica. The people were so gentle and treated us with such hospitality, the natural environment was breathtaking, and the staff at Corcovado Lodge so knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. This was my husband's third trip to Costa Rica and we will certainly return. -Marjorie Bungay & Michael Barrett

After all the great things we'd read, my husband and I were excited to visit
Corcovado Tent Lodge as part of a two week honeymoon in Costa Rica. However, I was still a bit apprehensive about the idea of a tent near the rainforest as I'm not a huge fan of insects and critters.
We were so thrilled when we arrived at the camp to find such a beautiful and isolated area. The reviews can never to it justice - this place is magical. We stayed 2 nights and loved every minute of it. The tents are extremely comfortable, public washrooms are clean, grounds are beautifully maintained, staff is so friendly and helpful and the meals are excellent.
Our favourite part of our stay was to meet and get to know all the different guests the lodge attracts. It's a very worldly crowd, each with the most amazing stories and we enjoyed the time we spent with them at dinner, on hikes and at the bar. The tent lodge provides incredible value for money. It was by far our favourite part of our trip to Costa Rica. Even though it is not the most convenient place to go to, it is completely worth the effort and totally surpassed our expectations. It is a once in a lifetime experience. -Manasi Kulkarni, Toronto

Hi Priscilla, Garry, Emma, and I just wanted to let you know that we had an amazing trip to Corcovado in December and we wanted to thank you for all your help with our plans!
It was great for us to be able to leave the logistics to you and to just RELAX with our friends for 4 days at your luxurious beach/jungle lodge. What a treat! We loved everything about Corcovado!
Everything went smoothly and we were particularly happy about the air conditioned taxi ride from Puerto Jimenez to Carate. So much better than riding in the open trucks in the sweltering heat. THANK YOU! Also, our flight from Carate to SJ was perfect. And, we were pleasantly surprised to find Alberto (name?) waiting for us as our transfer guide. He was so nice and informative. We really enjoyed his "driving tour" stories and his friendliness.
Thank you again for all of your help with planning our trip of a lifetime! -Alicia Foster, Emma Hanley, Garry Hanley

The camp has to be the best place I have ever been. It is literally right along the beach and the jungle. It's like a scene out of survivor. No cars, houses, noises, tvs, phones, anything. Just the loud crash of the waves, the roars of the howler monkey and the screeches of the macaws. We had the beach and the jungles to ourselves. Our tent, which was more like a canvas hotel room, was facing the ocean. We could open our flap and there it was. We spent the day eating at the restaurant, which served delicious family style meals by the most friendly wait staff in the world. We then took a nap, laid in the hammocks, walked along the beach, saw some spider monkeys playing, watched the sunset and called it a night. The funny thing is, here you go to bed at 8:30, since the lights go out. But the tropical stars are amazing. You cannot even pick out the constellations since they are overshadowed by a blanket of white dust. We both slept good that night, despite the heat.

Hello, My boyfriend and I would like to thank you for the wonderful time we had while we were in Costa Rica. Our experience with Costa Rica Expeditions has been nothing short of delightful--from the travel arrangements which Rebeca Zuniga facilitated, the punctual pickup from our hotel, the great food, the friendly and hugely efficient staff at the tent lodge, and most of all, our tour in Corcovado.
Sofia, our guide, really made the trip for us. She was very knowledgeable, and very kind. I cannot imagine how we would've fared in the rainforest without her! She also provided us with some valuable insight about Costa Rica, which was just as important as all the wildlife that we saw. The downside is now, my boyfriend refuses to travel to another country without a guide, but I think it will be very difficult to find someone as good as her!
To Sofia, Rebeca, Olman (who flew in to Corcovado with us), Elyer (the waitstaff at the tent lodge), and everyone else in Costa Rica Expeditions, our warmest gratitude for a most memorable experience!
I would also like to commend Costa Rica Expeditions for your efforts in protecting Costa Rica's precious resources, and for sharing with us outsiders how important it is to do so. Staying at the Corcovado Tent Lodges has been one of my most guilt-free indulgences. -Regards, Simone

Michael, We had a wonderful time. We stayed 2 nights in the Corcovado Tent Camp and that experience was just great. The guides there were very helpful and informative. The camp itself was very nice. The food was wonderful and the place was very clean. There was one little problem, on the first night before bed on my nice white pillow with its beautiful flower was a baby boa. The guide was very helpful in getting it out. It really wasn't a problem and has made for just another fun story from our trip.
Another wonderful experience: while relaxing in the hammocks at the tent camp, 7 scarlet Macaws fly into the almond tree over top of us and we spent a hour dodging almond shells. Only in Costa Rica! -Jill Snyder, Uniglobe Wings Travel

Dear Michael, I have just returned to New York after a splendid few days at your Corcovado Lodge Tent Camp. My trip was quite impromptu as I was in San Jose for work and realized I had a few days off so took advantage of your "Odyssey" tour. Rebeca Zuniga was very efficient at organzing the whole thing at short notice. The pick up at the airport, the flight to Carete, the walk to the Lodge all went smoothly. The level of comfort was higher than I expected and the bar and the dining hall were both great places to hang out and get to know the other travellers. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that your staff at Corcovado is great.
My guide for the canopy platform, Aaron, really knew his stuff. He's definitely an asset to your operation, particularly with his command of vernacular English. And Nelson, who I believe is new, was my guide for the Madrigal day hike; he knew his "Birds of Costa Rica" inside-out and was able to spot a bird and then immediately point it out in the book. The experience has inspired me to spend more time in Corcovado and next time I will definitely spend some time in Sirena. Best regards, -Saad Iqbal

I enjoyed my trip to Costa Rica that was arranged through your agency. I thought I was going to have a bad time when I missed my flight to Corcovado two days in a row due to weather, but Nadya Shaw helped me immensely and arranged a trip to Monteverde. I got to enjoy the cloud
forest and I arrived in Corcovado in time to enjoy the nice weather that occurred after the storm. All of the guides and drivers were great and I loved the lodges as well. The Corcovado Tent Camp is paradise. -Charlie Jordan

Thanks for the note, Michael. We've been home five days and I can't stop thinking about Costa Rica and all the great experiences we had while there. Thanks again for the trip of a lifetime. I sent some specific feedback to Priscilla Jimenez already, which she forwarded to you.
One suggestion I forgot to include in my earlier e-mail: The food at Corcovado was so good we thought you ought to offer a Corcovado Lodge Cookbook for sale to your guests. We certainly would have bought at least one copy. Thanks. -Tom

Dear Grettel and Michael Kaye, We have been back a little over a week now from our wonderful trip to Costa Rica. I wanted to send this note to thank Grettel again for all her assistance ... and to let you know that everything went extremely smoothly ... we had a fabulous time! I traveled with my husband and our two children .. aged 16 and 12... and we all loved CR.
The Corcovado trip was one of the highlights. What a fabulous place... and what an adventure! The food was terrific (the best we had in CR) and the location was the most beautiful we have ever stayed at. I loved the tents (as did the family) ... and living (oh so briefly) so close to nature. And thanks for booking our terrific guide ... Olman Brenes was such a wonderful guide and companion ... after we left Corcovado we really missed him! I didn't really know what I had booked, when I booked the trip plus a guide ... but I am so glad we did that ... Olman was so knowledgeable, so kind and helpful ... we all so enjoyed having him with us! He even gently persuaded me to go up to the canopy platform where we were thrilled to see all three types of monkeys, along with the macaws and toucans! In fact the only animals we saw during our time in CR was in Corcovado (other than birds, of course).
The only thing I would do differently next time ... is to use your services more completely ... and ask for more recommendations! Really! Both on locations in Costa Rica and lodgings ... and particularly alternatives to Monteverde {Too many people traveling in larger groups for me!}... although we enjoyed your lodge .. there were also large groups staying there at the same time ... definitely the least peaceful place in CR we visited! Best regards, -Rebecca Cowdery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

My travel buddy and I stayed at the Tent Camp and consider the whole experience, from the time we left San Jose until we returned, to be an absolute highlight of our month long adventure in Costa Rica. I tell everyone visiting Costa Rica to contact Costa Rica Expeditions to arrange for this wonderful trip. In fact, I am following my own advice and returning for another visit!

Great food, great service... we felt like family while we were there. Many thanks to Kenya for taking us on the canopy tour. She was wonderful! Everything was clean and comfortable and it was clear that all of the staff were there to make our stay just perfect! Corcovado was a great way to end our honeymoon in Costa Rica.

It was one of the first highlights of my 2 weeks in Costa Rica. My amigo Curt and I drove from San Jose to Puerto Jiménez the first day, then around the Osa Peninsula to Carate the next. A 11+ hour long, but memorable trip. From there we stumbled upon it as we walked up the beach with way too much camera and camping gear, looking for the public campground located another 5~10 minutes beyong the lodge. We were immediately hooked and stayed 2 or 3 nights! I slept like a baby in the tent listening to the gently crashing waves and felt as alive as the rainforest at dawn. For being in the middle of nowhere, the meals were top notch and the scenery is breathtaking.
You can get their much easier with a plane into Carate from San Jose, then a 45 minute walk up the beach next to a horse drawn cart, carrying your luggage!
I can't wait to experience it again!

A magical place surrounded by the pounding Pacific on one side and the dense, old growth jungle on the other. Abundant wildlife, cozy tent cabins, delicious meals and a friendly and caring staff.
